Wet Wet Wet 25th AnniversaryWet Wet Wet are back in Glasgow on Friday 20th July performing a very special 25th Anniversary ‘Back In The Park’ concert at Glasgow Green. Marti Pellow and the boys will be delighting the masses with their first gig in almost 5 years.

The world famous band consist of Marti Pellow (vocals), Tommy Cunningham (drums, vocals), Graeme Clark (bass, vocals) and Neil Mitchell (keyboards, vocals) and have hits such as a cover version of the Beatles’ – With a Little Help from My Friends, which was produced to help raise cash for Childline. Other hits include – Goodnight Girl, Sweet Surrender and their biggest ever hit, Love Is All Around, which was their cover version of the Troggs single. There are still a few tickets left for this one off special show so if you or a friend are big on Wet Wet Wet then be sure not to miss out!

  Bloc Party, The Garage, 19 June

After a lengthy hiatus, one-time London indie heroes Bloc Party return with a small scale tour that is sure to be nothing short of a spectacle. Used to wowing stadiums, their show at the Garage will be a         welcome return to Scotland ahead of their forthcoming fourth album, inventively-titled Four.

 

Blink 182, SECC, 20 June

Californian pop-punk heavyweights Blink 182 might be married with children and fast-approaching their 40s but don’t think for one second they’ve forgotten how to have fun. Touring on the back of last year’s Neighborhoods, their first album together in eight years, the trio return to Glasgow with another huge arena show at the SECC. Expect crude humour, catchy tunes and an energetic live show from these big kids.

 

John Barrowman, Glasgow Green, 22 June

Torchwood star and crooner extraordinaire John Barrowman makes a trip to Glasgow Green for a massive outdoor performance; one of only four UK dates pencilled in for this larger-than-life star of stage and screen. Expect Barrowman to put on a big show while he belts out the classics.

 

 

 

Stand and Deliver, The Stand, 20 June

Join some of the top names in rising Scottish comedy at the Stand Comedy Club to help aid Dementia Awareness. The line-up includes Billy Kirkwood, Gary Little, Elaine Malcolmson, Asim Ali, and Chris Forbes. Jeff Dunham Controlled Chaos Glasgow Apr 24: Jeff Dunham ”Controlled Chaos” SECC

American ventriloquist and stand-up comedian Jeff Dunham will perform at Glasgow’s Clyde Auditorium this Tuesday.

Jeff has appeared on US national TV late shows such as David Letterman and Comedy Central Presents, The Tonight Show. Labelled “America’s favourite comedian” by Slate.com. This is a great chance to see a high profile comedian with a difference.

The British singer/rapper released his 3th artist album titled ‘Playing In The Shadows’ on the 4t September 2011 with Glasgow being one the many stops in his 2011 Arena Tour. The album debuted at number 1 on the UK Album Charts with two number 1 singles. Example, real name Ellion John Gleave has been famous for releases such as “Changed the Way You Kiss Me” and “Kickstarts”.
Via Twitter, Example tweeted that on the plane to Sydney he plans on writing some songs for a new album and he will be listening to Kasabian’s new album for lyrical inspiration. If you are one of the lucky ones to have a ticket for this then you are in for a treat!

Professor Green live at Glasgow's o2 academy Apr 23 Professor Green: O2 Academy

Like Example, Professor Green is a British rapper who has had huge success over the last few years. He rose to success upon winning the inaugural JumpOff MySpace £50,000 battle rap tournament in July 2008. This lead to a tour with Lily Allen which subsequently lead to a record deal with Virgin Records.
He released his debut album, “Alive Till I’m Dead”, on 19 July 2010, which features guest vocals from Lily Allen, Emeli Sandé, Fink, Labrinth and Example, as well as The Streets.
His second album “At Your Inconvenience” was released last year with the title track being played first on air on Zane Lowes Radio 1 show. This show at the O2 Academy will feature all the best tracks from his new album and it will be a show to remember.

English pop band McFly first found fame back in 2004 when they were invited to tour with fellow boy band Busted. Band members Tom, Danny, Dougie and Harry announced this latest tour in August last year. This Friday’s show at the SECC will include three brand new songs entitled Do What You Want, Red and Touch The Rain. This will be a great night for old and new fans to join in the fun and hype!

Spamalot tells the tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table including show girls, cows, killer rabbits and of course French people. Without a doubt the funniest musical about.

Glasgow International Comedy Festival15th -1st Apr_ Glasgow International Comedy Festival

This month Glasgow will host some of the best established comedy performers as well as the hottest up and coming talent. For two and a half weeks household names such as Frankie Boyle, Dara O’Briain and Ardal O’Hanlon will perform in a variety of venues across the city.
Other notable gigs include Rich Hall at the Garage Sat 17th/Sun 18th. Rich is a regular guest on BBC’s QI as well as appearances on 8 Out of 10 Cats, Have I Got News for You and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.

As well as these big name events there are also many new talent and open mic gigs. The Stand Comedy Club is famous for these open mic nights and will host two gigs on Tuesday 20th and Sat 31st. This will showcase the stars of tomorrow as well as the occasional appearance from current stars trying out new material before their main shows.

The Oasis man now gone solo will be playing Glasgow’s SECC as part of his world tour to coincide with his new album ‘High Flying Birds’. Simply one of the hottest albums of last year every song is Noel at his very best. Excellent written music with sing along lyrics is what made Oasis famous and Noel still captures that same magic of involving the crowd and getting everyone tapping and singing along.

The British & Irish boy band have achieved massive success in a very short period. Their debut single, “All Time Low”, was released in 2010 and reached number 1. The bands self titled debut album was released a few months later reaching number 4 in the album charts.
The Wanted are best known for their singles “Gold Forever” released in aid of comic relief and their hit number 1 “Glad You Came” This latest tour will include the tracks from their new album ‘Battleground’ which was released November last year.
